Privacy Policy
Relative Ease ("we," "us") operates relativease.com — a free digital locker, a directory of estate planning professionals, and educational guides and news about end-of-life planning (the "Service"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@relativease.com.
Information we collect
Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and account type (individual or professional). Passwords are stored only as salted cryptographic hashes — never in plain text.
Locker contents. Information you store in your locker (account details, document locations, instructions, and similar records) is stored encrypted in our database. Locker contents are yours. We do not read, sell, or use locker contents for advertising, and we access them only as needed to operate, secure, or troubleshoot the Service, or when required by law.
Directory information. Professional listings are compiled from publicly available sources (firm websites and public licensing records). Listing information about firms is business contact information, is not sold, and can be claimed, corrected, or removed by the firm at any time.
Usage and analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage (pages visited, general location, device type). Google Analytics uses cookies; you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the Service will still work.
Communications. If you email us or submit a form, we keep the message and your contact details to respond and to operate the Service.
How we use information
- To provide and secure the Service (accounts, locker storage, directory).
- To respond to inquiries, claims, corrections, and removal requests.
- To send service-related messages, and — only where you have asked or where permitted — occasional updates about the Service. Every non-essential email includes an opt-out.
- To understand and improve the Service using aggregate analytics.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not share locker contents with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not provide legal advice, and nothing collected is used to create legal documents.
Sharing
We share information only with the service providers required to run relativease.com (hosting, analytics, and email delivery), under their own privacy terms, and when required by law or to protect the Service and its users.
Security
Locker contents are encrypted at rest, passwords are hashed with Argon2id, and access to systems is limited and authenticated. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Your choices
- Access and correction: email hello@relativease.com to see or correct the personal information we hold about you.
- Deletion: you may delete locker items at any time, and you may ask us to delete your account entirely; deletion removes your locker contents from our active systems.
- Firms: claim, correct, or remove a listing from its listing page or by email.
- Emails: use the unsubscribe link in any non-essential email.
Children
The Service is for adults planning their own affairs. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
