Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of relativease.com and the Relative Ease services (the "Service"), operated by Relative Ease ("we," "us"). By using the Service you agree to these terms.
What the Service is — and is not
Relative Ease provides (1) a free digital locker for organizing documents, account information, and end-of-life instructions; (2) a directory of estate planning professionals; and (3) educational content, guides, and news.
We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice. We do not draft, prepare, or file wills, trusts, or any legal documents. Content on this site is general information, not advice about your situation. Laws vary by state; consult a licensed attorney in your state for legal documents and advice.
Accounts
- You must be 18 or older to hold an account. Provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- Professional accounts and listing claims require an email address on the firm's own website domain, so listings are controlled only by the firms they describe.
- We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or misuse the Service.
Your locker contents
You own the information you store in your locker. You grant us only the license needed to store, encrypt, back up, and display it back to you so the Service can operate. You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of what you store, and for keeping your own copies of important documents — the locker is an organizational tool, not a substitute for original legal documents or for an estate plan.
The directory
Listings are compiled from publicly available sources for convenience. A listing is not an endorsement, ranking, guarantee, or referral, and we do not verify that a listed professional is right for your matter. Confirm credentials and standing with the relevant state bar before engaging any professional. Firms may claim, correct, or remove their listings at any time, free of charge.
Acceptable use
- Do not scrape, bulk-copy, harvest, or republish the directory, listings, or site content, in whole or substantial part, by automated or manual means.
- Do not attempt to access another user's account or locker contents, probe or disrupt the Service, or upload unlawful content.
- Do not misrepresent your identity or affiliation when claiming a listing or contacting us.
Our intellectual property
The site's design, text, graphics, logo, and software are owned by Relative Ease or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Except for the limited right to use the Service as intended, no rights are transferred. You may link to our pages and quote brief excerpts with attribution.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is." We work to keep listings and content accurate and the Service available, but we do not warrant accuracy, completeness, or uninterrupted operation, and we are not responsible for decisions made in reliance on directory information or educational content.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Relative Ease will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service (which, for most users, is zero).
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for violation of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability, governing law) survive termination.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. We may update these terms; material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
